Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple projects at all stages from scoping to closeout. Project Manager will work to ensure projects are completed on time, on schedule and within established financial and operational constraints. This position has an emphasis on well drilling, well interventions, well field development, and well field systems.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support in the development of processes and documented procedures to facilitate streamlined project delivery
  • Provide project management support for activities such as: pad construction, well permitting, well drilling, and well interventions; including scope definition, budget, schedule, financial justification, procurement, logistics and implementation
  • Provide project management support for well field development activities, such as well flow tests, pipeline systems, and production systems
  • Work closely with specialists (drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, geologists) to support and develop scope, budget, and project planning strategy for multi-well drilling campaigns worldwide
  • Ability to work with a variety of documentation on any given project including submittals, testing, training, implementation, as-built documents, change order, purchase orders, and material and service contracts to ensure high quality of work at a job site
  • Develop processes to prepare project scopes of work and assist in obtaining contractor bids
  • Manage budgets and control costs whilst communicating deliverables for the overall project
  • Coordinate with the procurement department for goods and services acquisition
  • Plan, schedule, adjust, and maintain timelines in a fast-paced environment while maximizing resources and optimizing budgets
  • Conducts site visits to understand the constructability of projects, attend progress meetings, monitor progress and verify QA/QC and safety goals are being met
  • Conduct post project reviews to determine areas for future improvement
  • Assemble project turnover documentation after project completion
  • Assist in improving wider project management processes within the wider Resource Team
  • The willingness to travel up to 50% nationally and internationally
  • The ability to travel for long distances by car and air
  • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner

 

Other Responsibilities

  • Support and enforce the company’s safety protocols through the project timeline
  • Provide support for special projects and endeavors as assigned
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by management

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • A Bachelor of Business or Engineering Degree (preferred) or related field (significant relevant field experience will be considered in lieu of a science or engineering degree)
  • PMP project management qualification required to either be already held, or a commitment to achieve certification
  • Five (5) years’ experience directly associated with projects, with preference being related to drilling or geothermal projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal or no supervision
  • Experience working with a diverse range of cultures is advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and influence positively a diverse group of executives, managers, stakeholders, and subject matter experts
  • Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong ownership mentality
  • Expert knowledge of creating business requirements, work plans, project schedules and associated project artifacts
  • Professional-level capabilities with project management tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. The ability to speak and write in multiple languages is preferred, specifically Spanish, French, Bahasa
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Ormat’s auto insurance carrier
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to international and domestic locations as needed per project and possibly with short notice

 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office and operation/construction environments
  • The ability to work at a computer and computer monitor for long periods of time
  • Must be able to wear a variety of protective equipment as required by safety procedures and regulations
  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 20 pounds without assistance.
