COVE FORT TOUR & PERMITTING REFORM

Representative John Curtis Visits Ormat's Cove Fort Geothermal Plant to Explore Sustainable Energy Solutions

We had the privilege of hosting Representative John Curtis and Josh Craft, the Government Relations Director of Utah Clean Energy, for a tour of our Cove Fort Geothermal Plant. The visit was a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the potential of geothermal energy and showcase our commitment to bringing sustainable and renewable energy sources online. Our team presented our innovative technology and operational processes that make our geothermal plants a prime example of environmentally friendly energy production.

Following the tour, Representative John Curtis stated, "I had a great time touring Ormat's Cove Fort Geothermal plant. I constantly hear from Utahns about the need for affordable energy, and geothermal energy is one of the tools we have to get there."

Josh Craft was equally excited and commented, "Utah has an opportunity to be a leader in the West in developing the clean energy resources that we need to reduce emissions and power our homes and businesses. It's exciting to see the plans that Ormat has at Cove Fort to help tap into Utah's abundant geothermal energy potential."

Our Vice President of Business Development, Paul Thomsen, was thrilled to showcase our geothermal plant to Representative Curtis and Josh Craft. He said, "We were incredibly excited to provide a tour of our Cove Fort Geothermal Plant to Representative John Curtis and Josh Craft from Utah Clean Energy. Ormat recently acquired this plant from Enel, and we are excited to immediately begin work to increase production. We look forward to expanding the geothermal footprint in Utah. We can't thank Representative Curtis enough for introducing H.R. 7370, which would require the BLM to issue administrative permits in a timely manner after NEPA is completed. This legislation will be instrumental for future development not only in Utah but throughout the United States!"

At Ormat, we are committed to developing clean and renewable energy sources. We believe that geothermal energy is an important tool to help us achieve our goal. We are excited about our future plans to expand our geothermal presence in Utah and look forward to promoting a more sustainable future.
